Won’t bow down, says Rahul Gandhi day after he was stopped from meeting Hathras rape victim’s family
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday quoted Mahatma Gandhi in a tweet saying he “won’t bow down” a day after he along with other Congress leaders were stopped from going to Hathras in Uttar Pradesh to meet the family of a gang-rape victim.
The Gandhi scion took to Twitter and wrote, “I will not bow down to anyone`s injustice”. The Congress leader also quoted Mahatma Gandhi on his 151st birth anniversary in his tweet.
Rahul Gandhi was allegedly manhandled, stopped and arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police while he was on his way to Hathras in Uttar Pradesh to meet the family of gang-rape victim along with party`s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress leaders.
“I will not fear anyone in the world … I will not bow down to anyone`s injustice, I will win the untruth with the truth and I can bear all the sufferings while opposing the untruth.` Happy Gandhi Jayanti,” Rahul tweeted on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
A case has been registered against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and over 200 others under section 188, 269 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Epidemic Act, according to the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police.
