After a shut down of all activities which lasted 55 days, buses and private vehicles were allowed to ply the roads with certain restrictions in place; most shops have also been alllowed to reopen, though different states have imposed their own rules.
Meanwhile, the ICMR said that a total of 25,12,388 samples have been tested by 9 am of Wednesday, and the testing capacity has been scaled up to 1 lakh tests per day. With less than 100 COVID-19 tests per day just two months ago, to a 1000-fold increase in just 60 days.

Tamil Nadu: With 776 new cases, total cases reach 13,967. The total number of active cases are 7,588. A total of 3.72 lakh samples and 3.55 lakh people have been tested till date. A total of seven deaths have been recorded on Thursday and the total death toll stands at 94. 400 discharged on Thursday and total 6282 discharged.
In Chennai, there are total of 8,795 cases and active 5,681 cases. 567 cases have been reported on Thursday.
In Jharkhand, the total number of coronavirus infected patients is 294.
Karnataka: 143 new cases reported in 24 hours taking total active cases in the state to 992. Total COVID-19 deaths so far are 41. Total positive cases climb to 1605.
Bihar: With 96 new patients, total cases rise to 1,872. The cases area-wise are–Gopalganj 17; Katihar 19; Rohtas 18; Sheikhpura 24; Lakhisarai 9; Purniya 5; Munger 3; Khagadia 1.
